Mission
The mission is simple: to leave people and places better than I found them. I was drawn to architecture at a young age because I saw it as one of the most tangible and lasting ways to make a positive impact. Today, I continue that mission through human-centered design, real estate development, and prudent project leadership.
Professional Experience
Licensed in Colorado, Utah, and Alabama - and project experience spanning Louisiana and California - I bring vast cultural experiences with a multi-disciplinary perspective to every project. Today I serve as the Founder & CEO of Sidney Aulds Building Studio.
Before starting the studio, I most recently served two and half years as Director of Development at Residential Ventures, a Denver-based real estate development and management company. In this role, I lead projects from land acquisition, underwriting, entitlements, and design.
From January 2020 to October 2021 I served as the Director of Architecture at Creature Builds, an innovative architecture, construction, and manufacturing company in Birmingham, Alabama. There, I contributed to the design and construction of several high-profile projects including: The Dagny, Mercantile on Morris, The Frank, The Fennec, and the 6th Avenue Cultural Center, to name a few. The company completed approximately $50M in design and construction work in the time I was involved.
From 2017 to 2019, I operated as Founder and Design Principal of a3+h Building Studio, where I oversaw projects as simple as bathroom remodels to the design of $100M plus master plans.
Education & Training
My foundation began at Louisiana Tech University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies. I served as the President of the American Institute of Architecture Students chapter and participated in and won multiple national design competitions during my time in undergraduate school.
In 2016, I earned a Master of Architecture degree with a certificate in Design-Build from the University of Colorado | Denver. While there, I was part of the 2015 student team that designed and built the internationally recognized Colorado Outward Bound Cabins.
Finally, I hold a Master of Science in Architecture in Real Estate Development from Woodbury University San Diego. From 2016-2017 I studied under notable architect-developers Jonathan Segal, Ted Smith, Hector Perez, and Brett Farrow.
What I Bring To The Table
With hands-on experience in design, construction, and real estate development across diverse markets, I offer a comprehensive understanding of the built environment - from concept to completion. My goal is to deliver exceptional value by aligning beautiful design with extraordinary leadership and execution and sound investment principles. I believe good design is good business.
Let’s build something that last the test of time.
